  • James Nicopoullos

    James Nicopoullos is the Clinical Director and “Person Responsible” at the Lister Fertility Clinic. He joined The Lister Fertility clinic in 2008. He graduated from Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in 1996, before training predominantly in London. Through this time, he trained under a number of eminent consultants specialising in reproductive medicine that fuelled his interest in the field. He undertook an MD research thesis in “the effect of sperm aneuploidy and DNA fragmentation on ICSI outcome” at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, where he also completed his subspecialist training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. Mr Nicopoullos is widely published in peer-reviewed international journals with more than 35 publications on topics such as male fertility, management of viral infections and sub-fertility, low ovarian reserve, ovarian hyper stimulation, premature ovarian failure, effect of progesterone levels and other markers of successful fertility treatments.

  • Professor Geeta Nargund

    Professor Geeta Nargund is a Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and Lead Consultant for Reproductive Medicine services at St George’s Hospital, London. Professor Nargund has published more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific papers including abstracts and also several book chapters in the field of reproductive medicine. She is a pioneer in the field of Natural and Mild IVF and Advanced Ultrasound Technology in Reproductive Medicine, and is an accredited trainer for Infertility and Gynaecological Ultrasound special skills modules by the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) London and British Fertility Society (BFS).

  • Dr Charles Kingsland

    After fertility training in Cambridge and London in the late 1980s, Charles Kingsland founded the Hewitt Fertility Centre in Liverpool with the aim of providing the highest quality NHS service within the United Kingdom. Charles has become one of the world’s outstanding fertility specialists, much sought after for lecturing and speaking, and was awarded a Professorship in 2012. As media spokesman for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Charles appears regularly on Television and Radio programmes and is in high demand as a public speaker.

  • Dr Alison Campbell

    Dr Alison Campbell started her career as an embryologist in Liverpool and held a senior embryology position with CARE Fertility at its inception in 1997. Alison has worked as a consultant at several clinics across the world including in Egypt and Italy and has played a key role in establishing and improving IVF laboratories. As Chief Scientific Officer for CARE Fertility Group, Alison heads up the eight embryology teams with 60 embryologists, across the CARE Fertility Group in the UK and Ireland.

  • Eloise Edington

    Eloise Edington founded Fertility Help Hub in 2019, after a personal struggle to conceive her three children, realising nothing like this exists. She has combined a passion-point with her advertising, media and marketing expertise, to create something unique and much needed. Eloise's Fertility Help Hub is an innovative digital fertility lifestyle platform, offering people trying to conceive around the world expert tips, resources, inspiring articles and community support, in one beautiful and non-overwhelming space. The mission is to empower people with a community, holistic support and advice, demystifying the fertility journey.

  • Saghar Kasiri

    Saghar Kasiri is a Healthcare professional with an Executive MBA with Distinction from Cass Business School, with a background in Clinical Embryology and Fetal Medicine, and a track record of combining medical and scientific knowledge with commercial expertise having managed departments both in the NHS and private sectors. She has received the Business Woman of the Year Award for providing an insight into the transformation of UK healthcare management. Her background speciality is in Clinical Embryology and she has an MSc in Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis &Fetal Medicine, and over 23 years’ experience of working in the fertility field. She has advanced presentation skills obtained via high profile media appearances on TV, magazine and internet. She has provided expert opinion as a fertility specialist on current topics at the BBC World Service and in a Channel 5 News, also presenting regularly on fertility issues for the past seven years (over 130 episodes), for a TV programme screened by a London-based international satellite channel Manoto TV (www.manototv.com) which is viewed by over 20 million viewers worldwide.

    Professor Tim Child is an HFEA Authority Member and Chair of the HFEA Scientific and Clinical Advances Advisory Committee, Medical Director of Oxford Fertility and Group Medical and Founding Director of The Fertility Partnership.

  • Anya Sizer

    Anya Sizer is the Regional Representative for the national charity Fertility Network UK in London but has worked in the fertility sector for over ten years including six years with the London Women’s Clinic and eight years running a central London support group . She is a champion for the Saying Goodbye charity and Home for Good charity as well as a mother to two IVF children and one adopted child. She has also written a book, entitled Fertile Thinking and regularly speaks to the media around all issues of infertility Anya is passionate about the need for support and care for those facing fertility issues and for campaigning for fair access to IVF provision for all.

  • Nina Barnsley

    Nina Barnsley is Director of the Donor Conception Network. The DC Network is a charity founded 25yrs ago to help break the isolation felt by so many people using donor assisted conception methods. They support people considering donor conception, offering help with the emotional aspects of the often complex decisions they are making. They provide a space to share hopes and fears as well as experiences of talking to children, and relatives and friends, about how the family came into being. They also provide resources and support for the long-term as children grow up and the questions and family dynamics change and develop. The charity was founded on the principles of openness and honesty and most of what they offer is centred around helping parents build the confidence to be open with their children and others and managing the implications of that decision. The charity is there to support all donor conception families whether they are having (or have had) treatment in the UK or abroad and whatever kind of donor(s) they are using. Their members may have used sperm, egg, double or embryo donation, with or without surrogacy, and include single women and men, heterosexual and same sex couples as well as donor conceived adults.

  • Dr Julija Gorodeckaja

    Dr Julija Gorodeckaja graduated from Vilnius University Medical School in 2005, after which she was part of special missions to Afghanistan in 2007 and 2011. Following her time in Afghanistan, Julija completed an internship and speciality training in obstetrics and gynaecology from Vilnius University in 2011, whilst also receiving her GMC licences on the specialist register. She served as the Speciality Doctor at Whittington Hospital from 2012 to 2013, and joined the Baltic Medical Centre (London) in January, 2013 where she ran the outpatient gynaecology and early pregnancy scan service. Julija helped grow this centre into an international IVF satellite clinic that worked with seven countries by the end of 2015. From 2015 to 2017, Julija did an MBA in International Healthcare Management, with her thesis focusing on patient centred care in the private IVF sector in the UK. Whilst working on her MBA, Julija joined the London Women’s Clinic in 2016 as a clinical research fellow, progressing to the role of Consultant in Reproductive Medicine. During her time working at the London Women’s Clinic, Julija developed a special interest in reproductive genomics and was part of the PGT clinical programme led by Professor Alan Handyside, Mr Michael Summers and Dr Christian Ottolini. Julija took over leadership of the programme from 2020 until 2021. In November, 2021, Julija joined CARE Fertility as the Deputy Group Medical Director (South) before being promoted to Group Medical Director. In addition to her role as Group Medical Director, Julija currently serves as the lead for genomics at CARE Fertility.

  • Laura-Rose Thorogood

    Laura-Rose Thorogood is a married lesbian mother of three children by IUI through a fertility clinic and one through IVF (after TTC during the pandemic & suffering from secondary infertility at the age of 33). Finding a lack of support, information & community when she & her wife started their path to parenthood, they decided to set up an organisation to provide just that. She is the Founder of The LGBT Mummies Tribe, a global organisation that supports LGBT+ women & people on the path to parenthood. She is an LGBT+ Family Activist, Fertility & Mental Health Advocate & Campaigner for Policy Change for LGBT+ families globally. She works directly with the NHS, & other global organisations & the UK Government to improve policies, support & visibility of LGBT+ families on the path to parenthood through pregnancy, birth & general healthcare.

  • Dr Jon Hausken

    Dr Jon Hausken is the Medical Director and Head of Klinikk Hausken. He completed his MD degree in obstetrics and gynaecology in 1995. Until he started the clinic in 2006, he worked both as Head of IVF and the maternity ward at Haugesund Hospital. Through his work, he continues the legacy of his father as an innovator in the field of IVF. Dr Hausken has also previously been Head of the Nordic Fertility Society (NFS) and the Norwegian branch (NOFAB).

  • Dr Francisco Anaya Blanes

    Dr Francisco Anaya Blanes is experienced in the field of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Currently Director of the UR Hospital La Vega, Murcia & Gynecologist of the Reproduction Unit of Clinica Vistahermosa. Medical Doctor graduated from the University of Valencia (1993-1999). Specialist degree in Gynecology and Obstetrics (MIR) at the Hospital Clínico Granada. Master's degree in Breast Pathology and Senology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2003-2004).

  • Professor Adam Balen

    Professor Adam Balen MB, BS, MD, DSc, FRCOG is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. In recognition of his research, he was awarded a personal (honorary) chair in 2004 and a DSc in 2010, by the University of Leeds. Adam qualified as a doctor in 1983 and spent his first few years training in obstetrics and gynaecology in London, Oxford and even a spell in Africa. These were the early days of IVF and he worked with some of its pioneers (Bob Edwards, Howard Jacobs). He became a consultant in Leeds in 1996, helping to create one of the UK’s largest IVF units – CARE Fertility, of which he is the Lead Clinician. For many years Adam has had a particular interest in the causes and management of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). His research covers the full spectrum of the condition including its effects during adolescence and adult life on reproductive and metabolic health, fertility, cosmetic effects, quality of life and long-term health. Professor Balen is the only UK gynaecologist to have sat on the international consensus groups on the definition and management of PCOS, which have written major guidelines since 2003. He was Chair of the World Health Organisation (WHO) expert working group on the management of PCOS for the Global Taskforce on Infertility, which produced global guidelines that were published in 2016; he continues on the WHO Global Guideline Development Group. He is also part of the global guidelines group that published further guidelines in 2018. For many years Adam was on the Executive Committee of the British Fertility Society and was elected Chair in 2015-2018. He now sits on the Board of Trustees. He also sits on the Council of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, for which he is the spokesperson on all matters relating to Reproductive Medicine. He chairs the NHS England working group on funding for IVF, which aims to provide equitable funding for assisted conception throughout the UK.

  • Clare Ettinghausen

    Clare Ettinghausen joined the HFEA in 2018 and leads the teams working in policy, communications and engagement, intelligence and research, and governance. She was previously Deputy Chief Executive of the Electoral Commission, working on the regulation of political parties and best practice in elections management. Before that, she was Chief Executive of the Hansard Society, an independent charity. Clare has worked in Parliament in both Westminster and Canada and has lectured on British politics and parliament to practitioners, academics, students and a variety of other audiences. She has acted as a consultant for a number of political and human rights organisations and has published articles in a wide range of academic and political journals. She is also a school governor at a school in West London.

  • Professor Allan Pacey

    Professor Pacey is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield School of Medicine and Biomedical Science and the Head of Andrology for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. His research interests are in male fertility and infertility. It is estimated than 1 in 6 couples have a problem in conceiving a child and in about half of these cases, a problem is identified with the male partner. Recent research projects have included investigating the role of sexually transmitted infections, such as Chlamydia on sperm function. He has collaborated with aerodynamic engineers at the University of Glasgow to investigate the fluid mechanics of sperm movement. He was one of the national coordinators of the CHAPS-UK project investigating the effects of occupation and lifestyle on semen quality in British men. Allan is currently the Chairman of the British Fertility Society and also chairs the Steering Group for the UK National External Quality Assurance Scheme for Andrology. He also sits on the Editorial Boards of the journals Human Fertility, Reproduction and Fertility and Sterility. He was an advisor to the NICE Fertility Guideline Development Group and has contributed to working parties of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, the Department of Health and the Teenage Cancer Trust. In addition to Science and Clinical Work, Allan is an accomplished broadcaster and regularly appears in the press and on television commenting on breaking news stories about infertility and IVF. He has also made a number of television programmes include Britain’s Secret Code Breaker (2011), Donor Unknown (2011), The Great Sperm Race (2009), The Truth About Food (2007), Make me a Baby (2007) and Lab Rats (2004). Allan is also the course director for the new MSc in Science Communication and regularly organises training courses in Science Communication.   • Dr Srividya Seshadri

    Dr Srividya Seshadri has a dual accreditation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Sub-specialisation in Reproductive medicine and Surgery. She is a Consultant Gynaecologist & accredited sub-specialist in reproductive medicine & surgery and Head of CRGH Research & Clinical Development. She completed her MD thesis on Reproductive Immunology at the University of Liverpool. She obtained her Masters in medical ultrasound from Kings College London and specialised in 3D scanning. Her special interests include Preconceptual care, Reproductive Endocrinology, Reproductive Immunology, Recurrent Implantation failure and Recurrent Miscarriages. She has authored publications in leading medical journals and lectured on the above specialised areas of interest.

  • Dr George Christopoulos

    George Christopoulos is a Consultant Gynaecologist and accredited Sub-specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. During his 15-year-long career in the UK, he has worked as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at University College London Hospital and as a Clinical Director at Thames Valley Fertility. He is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London.Mr Christopoulos completed his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in tertiary NHS units, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ and Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospitals. He worked as a Clinical Research Fellow in Assisted Conception and subsequently completed his subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in Hammersmith Hospital. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy from the University of Surrey and has received extensive training in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in Endometriosis Centres accredited by the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy. The doctor also holds a Diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (DFSRH) of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Mr Christopoulos has a significant research background. He has published extensively in the field of assisted conception and his research interests include uterine fibroids, polycystic ovarian syndrome and the prevention of ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome. His MD at Imperial College London focused on the use of novel medication, which aimed to decrease complications and improve the safety profile of IVF cycles. This research project received widespread attention from the scientific community and the media both at national and international level. He has received multiple awards at international fertility meetings and has authored a book chapter on fertility preservation methods.His special interests include reproductive endocrinology, menopause and the management of male infertility. He has been a member of the British Fertility Society and Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 2012. His philosophy has always been to tailor medical treatment to the individual needs of women and couples through a clear and evidence-based approach.

  • Dr Alper Eraslan

    Dr. Alper is an Obstetrics & Gynaecology Surgeon with IVF Specialist certification. He joined Dunya IVF in 2019. Previously he was part of the Koc University Hospital in Istanbul Turkey. He received his IVF Specialist certification from the American Hospital in Istanbul. He attended faculty of Medicine in Dokuz Eylul University School of Medicine in Izmir and completed Ob&Gyn Residency in Marmara University Hospital in Istanbul. He was granted a fellowship from ESGO at Klinikum Frankfurt Höhcst, Germany with Prof Volker Mobüs in 2013 and at UZ Leuven, Belgium with Prof Ignace Vergote in 2014. He has good command of English.

  • Dr Natalia Szlarb

    After graduating in medicine in Poland in 2002, Dr. Natalia Szlarb worked in gynaecology and obstetrics at various hospitals in Germany. During her studies she undertook international internships in Brazil, Egypt and Poland. In 2011 she obtained her PhD in Immunology in the United States. Dr. Szlarb understands that each patient is unique and, therefore, devotes time to explaining and assessing the different options available in any given situation. Dr. Szlarb speaks fluent English, German, Polish and Russian.

  • Tarek El-Toukhy

    Mr Tarek El-Toukhy is the clinical lead of the Assisted Conception Unit and HFEA Person Responsible. He is an expert consultant in reproductive medicine and surgery and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) at Guy’s and St Thomas’ and an honorary senior lecturer at King’s College London, University of London. Tarek completed a Master’s degree and an MD degree and subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’. Tarek has published more than 100 papers, 20 book chapters and lectured widely both nationally and internationally. He is a scientific editor for the BJOG journal.
